I have been writing poetry since the age of eight but purely for pleasure. At home I was affectionately nicknamed 'the scribe' and frequently encouraged to publish my work. However, it was only after I joined the Milngavie Writers Group near Glasgow that I began thinking in this direction. I had been made redundant from the call centre Teletech UK and was looking for a more rewarding career. The poems in this collection were originally produced for Milngavie Writers and can also be found on Blogit.com, an American writers blog which I subscribed to in 2007. Other sites where my work can be viewed include Triond.com which publishes my verse on Authspot. Along with my creative writing, I have done some freelance journalism with The Kirkintilloch Herald, The Evening Times and The Scottish Catholic Observer.
