Helen Valentina writes to understand what drives our beliefs, dreams and choices in life. Her first novel, The Seed, looks at these questions through the lens of a love story - one driven by a shared mythology and the aspects of each lover's nature which inform their actions and pursuit of love. Her second novel, Curiosity, approaches this from a different angle - black comedy/satire - looking at how we get information and build beliefs in the modern, media age. It's the story of a benign sociopath who thinks the world has ended and no-one noticed, and the very odd results when something he does makes the world see this nihilist as a hero.
